Resilience

Jul 16, 2022

One of the biggest characteristic you can not do without as an entrepreneur is Resilience.

When you first start out, you have to figure everything out and that may be daunting. You will fall down many times and have to start over again. Most likely you want to throw in the towel. What is the difference then between the people who will succeed and those who just give up? Yes you guessed right; Resilience! Those people with resilience will get up every time they fall down as they know they only have to get up one time more than that they fell down!

When you first start with your online business, everything is new and exciting and you are highly motivated. You will have all the energy and put in the hours that is needed as you have that dream that you would like reach. But as time goes by, and maybe success doesn’t happen, you might lose interest and decide to give up. What a waste of time & energy if you do that. When you are working towards a better future you have to keep going and learn from the things that did not work out and learn new things that will work out. You need to develop your skills and will gain experience by doing so. By continuing your entrepreneur endeavour you will be closer to succeeding. Success might be just around the corner, so don’t give up that soon!

But how to develop resilience? Some people have that by nature and do not know any other way of doing things. If resilience is something that is a little bit harder for you, you have to put some exercise to strengthen that trait. You have to have a big WHY to keep you going. This is so much bigger and rewarding than the small time failures you might experience in your present. Also you have to be aware of your successes you’ve had. Write those achievements down in your journal, so you can read about them when you are feeling less motivated. Most likely you accomplished more than you give yourself credit for. And you will see how much progress you have made(on your business, but also personally).

When you are stuck in your business, don’t forget to call out for help. People are inclined to help others out, so ask for that help and help those who need your expertise at one point.

“Sometimes something that did not work out for you , did end up working out for you!”

Even if you have all the resilience in the world, that might not be enough. Sometimes you try something new or you really want that new gig and you did everything you could to achieve it, but you unfortunately realize that it did not work out for you! Or did it? I remember an old saying that if one door closes another door will open. So don’t be discouraged when something did not work out for you, even if you gave it your all. Start looking for new opportunities that have your name all written over it that will help your business succeed!

Keep going and find a way to be resilient!
